Nov 10

Gosh, I didn't realize how long it's been since I've posted. Anyhow, I made it down to 181.8 and have been eating really healthy and excercising at least every other day. The last few days the weight has been creeping back on due to impending AF, though, which is discouraging. And yesterday I was filled with insatiable hunger. If I could only figure out how to deal with that I would progress a lot more, I think. And since I'm pretty certain that AF will be here today or tomorrow, it means I'll have to "try again next month". Again.

Nov 4th

Yay! I'm down one pound to 181.8. This morning I had an Atkins shake, then I had some Ginseng tea and cottage cheese. I just bought a whole bushel of lovely, locally-grown Gala apples for $10. I'm going to clean my butt off for excercise today and hit the gym hard tomorrow. I need to make something for dinner. I wonder if I can find any fish recipes for the crock pot.

Yesterday I went to Target and their dollar section was 75% off! I went a little crazy and bought $30 worth of yarn, jewelry, old horror movies, candles, and craft supplies.

Quick post:
I ate healthy today, even though I've been sick. For dinner I made enchiladas with whole-wheat tortillas. I also went run/walking, I did 1.6 miles in 20 minutes. Still weigh 182.8.

Nov 2nd

Today I am cleaning out the pantry, but I am getting so tired! Here are some things I ate today:

Atkins shake
Snickers low-carb bar
pine nuts
Crystal Light oj
artichoke dip
cottage cheese
lime-flavored sparkling water

I am having a hard time thinking of what to make for dinner, my kitchen is such a mess! Didn't work out last night because DH and I have awful sore throats. I'm maybe even sicker today, but I need to work out tonight!

November 1st

I'm back! I've had a difficult summer going through a miscarriage, but now I feel like I've pulled myself back together. So, I'll jump right in:

Today I weighed 182.8

I walked 5.6 miles on the treadmill today, 4 miles at 4 mph and 1.6 at 3 mph

I've eaten pretty healthily:
Atkins shake
Avacado
Atkins nut roll
Some other low-carb cookies and cream bar
Pine nuts
Chili Con Carne
and a Jamba Juice Colbuster shake with the low-carb base instead of the sherbet.

My goal is to lose 15 lbs in during November and December. I also bought a new swimsuit today since I left my newest one in a Las Vegas hotel this summer, and the next newest one got beat up learning to skimboard at Newport Beach, CA!

I'd like to organize my pantry and wardrobe in the next few days, too. I need to get rid of a lot of stuff so moving isn't so hard next year when we buy a house.

Today I got my last referral for a free iPod Nano! I'm going to give it to DH for Christmas. Hopefully I can get a free XBox 360 next. I already have one referral.

Good news! I had my doctor's appointment today and she was really pleased with my weight loss, so I can start TTC. Since I was gone pretty much all day, all I had was:
  • Chinese food (meats and veggies only)
  • Atkins peanut bar
  • A few whole-wheat crackers

Also, I played raquetball for an hour and ran for 5 minutes.

Feb 27

Well, today was a bad day. Bloating, cramps, back pain, etc. I didn't log what I ate, but the worst thing was a corn dog with 1 g of sugar, so I didn't totally blow the diet either. Tomorrow is another day. :)

Feb 26

Today I had:
  • 1/2 c milk with protein powder [10 carbs]
  • popcorn [15 carbs]
  • 8 oz cranberry juice [29 carbs]
  • low-carb ice cream bar [3 carbs]
  • can of salmon in olive oil [0 carbs]

I swam for an hour, covering 1/2 of a mile, so about 600 calories burned. My total mileage for 2005 is 29.5 (Running, elliptical, swimming only. Walking doesn't count!)

My lovely scale had some good news for me when I got back from swimming:
  • 178.4 lbs
  • 37% body fat
  • 41% water




Oh, and it's cycle day one; hasn't been too bad so far.

  • 1 hardboiled egg [1 carbs]
  • 1 mug sugar-free hot chocolate [9 carbs]

Had 400 mcg of chromium, multivitamin, B vitamin.

  • 1 can salmon in olive oil [0 carbs]
  • 1 low-carb fudge bar [3 carbs]
  • 1 c green beans [6 carbs]
  • 1/4 c peanuts [3 carbs]
  • 1 c milk [13 carbs]
  • 1 slice multi-grain bread [28 carbs]
I also took 400 mcg of chromium, multivitamin, and B-complex.

Tonight I worked out. Here is a basic summary:
  • I worked out for 1.25 hrs
  • I burned 500 calories on cardio machines
  • 1 hour on the eliptical machine (30 min fat-burning level 5, 30 min cross-training level 3), 4 miles covered
  • bicep curls
  • lat pull-downs
  • tricep pull-downs
  • 3 min crunches

My scale said 182.4 this morning.

  • 1/4 c in-shell peanuts [3 carbs]
I also took a 400 mcg of chromium, multivitamin, and B-complex.

So, today I ate:
  • 1 mug hot water with lemon juice
  • 1 sesame ball (yum!)
  • 1 small apple
Then, I officially started strictly dieting at 12:30 pm and ate:
  • 4 slices of ham [0 carbs]
  • 1 low-carb ice cream bar [3 carbs]
  • 1 low-carb brownie bar (bleh!) [3 carbs]
  • 2 pickles [0 carbs]
  • 1/4 c roasted peanuts [3 carbs]
  • 1 c milk [13 carbs]
  • 1 c green beans with hot sauce [6 carbs]
Tonight I worked out. Here is a basic summary:
  • I worked out for 1.5 hrs
  • I burned 500 calories on cardio machines
  • 10 minutes on stair machine
  • 33 minutes on the eliptical machine, fat burning program level 5, 2.5 mi covered
  • 3 minutes running hard on treadmill, .5 mi covered
  • bicep curls
  • lat pull-downs
  • tricep pull-downs
  • 3 min crunches
I also took a multivitamin and a B-complex vitamin and drank more than enough water.

My super-fancy scale tells me:
  • 185.2 lbs
  • 38.5% fat
  • 40.5% water

Health Tracking Blog!

Why hello,
This blog is to help me track my health progress. I will be excercising and dieting to try to lose weight and duke it out with PCOS. I will be following the South Beach diet and working out at my school's gym. Once I lose 10-15 more pounds I want to start jogging again. The most compelling reason for me to lose weight is that I want to have children soon, and have them be healthy. Since November, I have lost 17 pounds out of my total goal of 75, but lately I have hit a plateau and am recommiting myself to log my diet and excercise to overcome it. I will say some pretty personal things since this is pretty anonymous, so you have been forewarned. So, here I begin at 183 lbs.
